Best Marketing Strategies For 2023

2023 is just around the corner and it’s time to start thinking about your marketing strategies for success. One of the best ways to stay ahead of the curve is to create a comprehensive digital marketing plan that covers all aspects of your business from content creation and management, branding, website development, email campaigns, social media strategy, search engine optimization (SEO), and analytics.  

On a recent GDS Digital Marketing Summit Obehi Remi-John, Global Marketing Director at Reckitt says the idea is to stay relevant and successful, and transformation plays a key role: 

“It’s about evolving your business so that it can survive for the long term. So, what that really means is, are you making the necessary changes to make sure you’re keeping up with the ever-changing marketplace forces and consumer needs?”  

Content Creation

Creating content is a crucial part of marketing in 2023, as it allows you to reach and engage with your target audience. Content should be tailored to the needs of the customer, optimized for search engines, and crafted with care to effectively communicate the right message. Consistency is also key – make sure your content is updated regularly and provides accurate, relevant information. Video content will continue to lead the charge in the new year. According to Forbes 

“With social media platforms prioritizing and launching new features such as livestreaming, video could become one of the most dominant content types in 2023.” 

  • Email Marketing 

In addition to content marketing, email marketing is a vital tool for increasing awareness about your brand, driving traffic to your website, and converting leads into customers. Emails should be targeted and segmented to reach the right audiences with the most effective messages.  

  • Social Media Marketing 

If you’re not leveraging social media in your marketing campaigns, do you really exist? Social media marketing will continue to be an essential part of marketing in 2023. Probably the most popular social media platform with Gen. Z and brands is Tik Tok.  With over 800 million followers industry experts expect Tik Tok will continue to play a key role in marketing campaigns. My colleague Colin Cosell and I recently discussed the popularity of Tik Tok on a recent  Strategy for Breakfast podcast, host Colin Cosell, not mincing words saying: 

“Tik Tok is on an upward trajectory. They’ve been kicking butt, taking names, how is this happening?” 

  • Marketing Automation 

In 2023 it will also be important to stay up to date on marketing automation and other technologies that can help improve the efficacy of your campaigns. Leading brands are leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI). A study by  Asana Market Research found “artificial intelligence is poised to make a huge impact in many industries within the next few years. Marketing professionals are now leveraging AI methods such as data models, algorithms, and machine learning to better understand their target audience.” 

  • SEO Marketing 

Finally, don’t overlook SEO as a key marketing tactic in 2023. Don’t forget to optimize your website with relevant keywords, create content that is optimized for search engines, and continuously work to improve your rankings so you can be found by potential customers.
