June 25 2021, New York, USA: GDS Group, the global events, research and technology services company, has awarded Jared Oehring, CIO and co-founder of VoltaGrid LLC, with the title of “Energy Leader of the Year” at this year’s NG Oil & Gas Digital Summit 2021. The award was presented during a live, interactive virtual ceremony at the digital event.
VoltaGrid aims to change the energy landscape by developing and deploying innovative energy technologies that enable its partners to focus on their core competencies while providing them with a practical choice to improve their ESG performance.
The Energy Leader of the Year award recognises outstanding C-Suite (or equivalent) oil & gas industry executives who could demonstrate exemplary leadership through real-world achievements in their field. Judges were particularly interested in seeing evidence of the application of innovative technologies or strategies over the last 12 months that have led to improved business performance and operational efficiencies.
In addition to the main Energy Leader of the Year award, Oehring also won the Business Impact Award for “delivering outstanding business performance.” Two further awards were announced to recognise achievements in specific areas:
- Wade Wondrasek, CEO of Jomax Drilling received the Integrity Award for achievements in terms of ethics, improving the working lives of colleagues, supporting marketplace change or reducing environmental impact.
- Travis Sharpe, Director of Business Development & Marketing of Gemini Fabrication Ltd. received the Innovation & Transformation Award for “successful innovation and/or transformation of their operations, team, technology, or processes to improve outcomes for their organisation.”
